Oh no, I have garlic envy, that lesser-known Freudian complex. Ours is nowhere near as long as that! I can only hope that you planted yours earlier than we did.
I planted the garlic in october of last year so they've had plenty of growing time! plus plenty of the recommended frost in order to split the bulbs - so you get cloves rather that one big bulb.
