I heard from the Allotment Sec today - apparently the bottom half of the next door plot has already been offered to someone who particularly wants a plot at our end of the site so I can't have it for an orchard.........Oh well - back to plan A then....

Hi Emma, Did you hear about the chap who paid £600 for fruit trees and then got thrown off because with the spacing between them he was deemed to not be cultivating 70% of his plot!
(It seems he had also fallen out with the Council officials - oops)
Thankfully our Allotment society is pretty lenient on these things, as long as it looks like the plot is being used, that seems to be ok! As it is I can only fit about 4 small trees on the bottom of my plot so there will definitely more than 70% being used.
